Hello, cam anyone tell me how I track the number of times a document is downloaded?

When I add a document (via the document module) on a page for people to download it asks whether I want to track the number of times it's downloaded, which I say yes to, but I'm not sure how to then access that information

I'd like to be able to know how many people have downloaded a document, in the same way it is possible to track how many times a page is viewed, etc in the site log.  Is that possible?

 Many thanks, Helen

Hi Helen,

If you click on the "edit" pencil next to a document while logged in with an account that has edit permission, you'll see a download summary for that document at the bottom of the edit page.

This is the only method that I am aware of to view these download counts, though I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to write a SQL query that could be run as a host, or to perhaps develop a report that could be run using the reports module (though I haven't executed either of those options personally).

Hope this helps!

Brandon
