Hello all!  I work for a State Government and we're wanting to use DNN for both our Internet (publically viewable) and Intranet (Private) websites.

While I understand that two different installs on different servers would provide the most security availalble, it would also complicate user registrations and security permissions (for users that frequent both the inter and intra sites)

From a security perspective, what are the risks of hosting only one DNN site and manage the intranet portions via user groups / permissions?

What is the standard approach when a customer has both intra and internet websites?

Thanks
William Earl

I am faced with a similar dilema on a project I am involved with.

Although, I can't offer any direct answers, I am interested in knowing what you learn about the topic asider from replies here.

One consideration I had was to do something like this, perhaps with the MD5 or something comperable.  I don't hoenstly know if that would mitigate most of the potential risk, but I thought it might be a good start.
