The establishment I'm working for is using DNN 4.x.  I have been the one who has had to upload everything, make all the changes, attempt to train other users etc.  However recently, I've been asked to set up a number of private pages, which I have done.  The only concern I have right now is that each page implements the 'Documents' module to allow certain members of staff to upload documents.  My concern at the moment is that; "is the standard file system secure?" Because some very private, sensitive documents are beeing uploaded.  How it's setup at the moment is that it only allows certain privileged users to access these pages however will their documents be at risk within the DNN filesystem?.  I've seen a drop down menu showing file system - standard and file system - secure.  When I click on secure nothing seems to happen.  What is the function of the secure file system and how do I use it?

if you have sensitive data, you need to use secure folders, to prevent others from downloading documents by typing in the URL. You can specify the folder type when creating the folder only and need to grant appropriate acces permission in DotNetNuke subsequently. This prevents files from being downloaded via HTTP, make sure, noone has direct access to server files by windows explorer or ftp.

Fantastic support, I now understand how to setup secure folders within the DNN file system.

Thanks,
