Sorry that I don't know how to make a correct question.

I am going to customize urlcontrol.aspx and rename it so it doesn't conflict to existing one. I will change the code behind of my_urlcontrols.ascx from the source version of DNN. However, I don't know how to put it into my project. In my knowledge, I have to follow these steps:

-Recompile DNN source version and get the DotNetNuke.dll.

-Put DotNetNuke.dll into my existing project.

-Put my_urlcontrols.ascx into /controls/ in my existing project.

-Use it as using urlcontrols

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is there any another way to use custom control?

you shouldn't need to touch DotNetNuke Library, if you are going to create your own control - this should be included in a custom module or be an installable component itself, residing inside DesktopModules/yourControlName folder. The problem with URLControl you will face it its been heavily relying on DNN core and a number of limitations are difficult to overcome - exept by a complete rewrite. My company did it for our commercial module (see demo here) and we donated the code to the Core Team, but there has been no resources of integrating it into the core yet. - hopefully in DNN 5.1 :-)
