Hi All

We are using DNN for our intranet and will be creating a portal for each of our departments. Is there any way to pass the breadcrumb info from one portal to another rather than the breadcrumb starting again when the user goes to a new portal?

My answer is ... No, you can't. CMIIW.

Breadcrumb is information about active page in which user browse on. If you want this breadcrumb show the same position in another portal, then your portal structure should be the same with one and another right ? I can't imagine why you create the same portal with the same structure and utilize the same breadcrumb for every portal. :)

If let say PortalA consist 3 pages and PortalB consist 2 pages. Then ofcourse there is different breadcrumb in those portals.

Home,About

If UserA is in PortalA on page Contact, how could they go to PortalB with the same breadcrumb ? :)

or do i missed something in your question that i don't understand ?

No, I don't think you are missing something. I also think it can't be done.

My example would be a home page breadcrumb such as:  Home>Organisation>Departments>Communications

which then links to the Communications portal, with an example breadcrumb of: Communications>Meetings>Supervisors' Meeting.

I would like the breadcrumb on the Communications portal to include the breadcrumb from the Home portal, thus:

Home>Organisation>Departments>Communications>Meetings>Supervisors' Meeting, so that users can just click 'Organisation' to return to that page on the Home portal.

But I don't think it's do-able.
