Recently, I heard about DNN and decided to do a local installation on my windows Vista computer, using the manual provided in this forum.

I managed to install DNN but when I open the site, I only see text and red crosses on the place where you should see pictures. It seems as if the standard skin is not working. Changing the skin doesn't work; the site is still without layout!

What am I doing wrong?

I am using DNN version 4.08.04 combined with sql server express 2005, on windows vista business...

Try to see in your IIS. Is there any application with the name "images" ?

I have similar symtoms few week ago. And i have my application with named "images". When i remove my "Images" application from my IIS then the problem is gone.

I don't know if that is happened in your case. Did you install DNN on root or on a virtual directory ?

HTH.
