I am working with a developer and am trying to figure out how to do some things on my own.  He gave me a login which I thought was an administrative role, but I cannot see the site wizard.  I also am trying to learn how to configure pages, but cannot figure it out even with the "dummies" book.  Any resources I can quickly go to or any info anyone may have would be very helpful.  Thank you

if you don't got a menu "Admin" at the end of the menu bar, you are not provided with a true admin account.

To edit a page, you need to see a small bar at the top of the page, starting with "mode: view O edit O design" and "show  control panel V" at the end. click the down arrow on the right end and you should see the full control center. Use the online help for guidance, how to manage your pages (see here
