All,

I ran into a situation where I needed to restore my working site from a backup.  My hosting provider restored me to a different set of machines.   On restore I changed my connection strings to reflect the new name of the SQL server, but other than that I didn't make changes.    I'm getting the error below, and haven't been able to sort out any answers.  This error doesn't indicate a specific file so I assume its an issue with web config, but not sure.   I belive I'm running 4.8.2 (maybe 3) but can't be sure till I have the site up and running.  Any insight you can provide would be great.

Regards,
-eric

Do you have a compression.config file in the root of your website still?

Chris,

Thanks for the pointer.  Compression.config was in my web root.  Removing the file solved my problem.   I use a shared hosting provider, so i'm not sure why compression.config was not an issue on my first server, but is on the new server.     Anyway, thanks for the help.  It was such a simple fix, I was just without leads.

Regards,
-eric
