I'm new to DNN and just starting to play around with it.  So I have DNN installed and a virtual directory in my site pointing to it.  My home page has the format of:

http://www.website.com/dotnetnuke/Home/tabid/77/Default.aspx

What do I have to do to have this home page available at http://www.website.com as the default?

Thanks very much.

Rick

Instead of setting up DNN in a virtual directory as you've done make the DNN directory the root of the website in IIS.

This is fairly simple to do assuming you don't have other items at the root of your site that you want to remain at this time.

Thanks for the reply.

I set it up as a virtual directory so it can be shared among different existing sites.  I'm trying to fit existing sites into DNN.  I wanted to avoid having a version installed for each site.

So right now a user can go to http://www.website1.com/dotnetnuke or http://www.website2.com/dotnetnuke  with different content.  Each site has a virtual directory pointing to the same instance od DNN.

Am I thinking about this the right way?

Any alternatives?

Thanks.

You are, but you can also have the same effect with websites as you can with virtual directories.

If you point individual websites to the DNN files (the same folder for each) DNN will handle the URLS and load which portal is being requested.

Before you make the change though, be sure to login as a superuser and manage the Portal Aliases. you'll need an alias for each portal with the domain name without the /dotnetnuke on the end.
