Is there a way to get DNN to send the admin/host an email when a new user registers and the Security Settings|User Registration is set to Private (email is sent to admin to authorize user).  I would like to have an email to be poked/prodded when a user registers instead of having to always check (have DNN do most of the work).

Thanks.

This should happen by default if the SMTP settings are correct. The e-mail will go to the e-mail listed in the account, of the user listed in the following setting:

admin --> Site Settings --> Advanced Settings --> Other Settings --> Administrator

Hi Robert,

I'm having exactly the same problem, have checked the Administrator account and it all seems ok but still not getting any emails generated.

The email server is ok as all my other emails are unaffected.

How are you checking your emails?  Are you using your email client?  Or are you using your browser to connect directly to your email server?  As a last ditch effort, I connected directly to the email server via IE and low and behold DNN WAS sending out the emails, it was my email provider (GMail) that wasn't sending down the emails to MS Outlook!  So it wasn't DNN's fault but GMail's.

If you configured your email properly (log in with host, goto Site Settings|Advanced Settings|SMTP Sever Settings and then if you can properly Test (use the link) and it says it's ok, then it should be config'd properly.
