Hello,

What I want to do is this: I have a page with a parent page, for example www.mysite.com/chapter1/page1.aspx (using humanfriendlyurls). Now, I want people to be able to type in just www.mysite.com/chapter1 in their browser and then they will automatically go to www.mysite.com/chapter1/page1.aspx. Is this possible? I have added page1.aspx as a default document in IIS, but it doesn't work.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I too would like to know how this works.  I believe it has something to do with the sites FriendlyURLs but when I tried to figure it out, it wouldn't work (I would like to make the overly complicated RSS feed url much simplified).

Thanks.

Hi,
Have you tried setting the page Chapter1 to redirect to page1.aspx in the page settings?  Go into the page settings, expand the Advanced Settings, and towards the bottom you will see a section labeled Link Url.  Choose your link type to be page, and then select page1.  That might be the easiest way to do it.  As a general rule, I would suggest letting DNN handle the url redirection at the page level.  IIS could potentially mess something up unintentionally.

Yes I have tried setting the redirect option in the page properties, but that doesn't work. It won't go to page1.aspx. Besides, people will then have to type in www.mysite.com/chapter1.aspx, and I want them to just have to type in www.mysite.com/chapter1, so without the .aspx .
