Hey folks - evidently my DNN for dummies book is not quite dumb enough :)

Can one of you smart guys give me a quick primer on how to set user roles/page security/module security for a couple specific situations?

I want anyone to be able to add comments to my blog and forum - so what are the page/module/role settings to enable that?

I have specific users that I want to have as guest bloggers.  I have set up child a child blog for this.  I want them to be able to add entries in this child blog without having access to edit any page or module settings...- so what are the page/module/role settings to enable that?

Thank you in advance - hope everyone had a great summer.

I assume you are using the DNN Blog module.

If you are using the DNN Blog module to allow any user to comment you will go to the main Blog module, that actually displays the blogs.

Then head over to the "Module Settings" menu and click on "Edit Blog Settings".

Under Blog Options you will see a list of choices that relate to who can comment and how, approval, etc.

In regards to the guest bloggers, I think you will want to create a role named, "Guest Bloggers" or something like that and give them view access to the blog module that drops in with a title of "New_Blog".  I believe that will achieve what you want.  You might need to mess a bit to get it perfect but that should point you in the right direction.
