I am using DNN 3.2 and facing this issue right now:

I would like to set the login timeout to 60 minutes.

Here is the section in my web.config:

    <authentication mode="Forms">
      <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="60" />
    </authentication>

However, the user's login session times out in 20 minutes after inactivity instead of 60. I am not sure what am I missing. Can someone please help me?

Thanks,

Max

This value is superseded by values that would appear in either the machine.config or in IIS directly.  Are you in control of your web server?  Or hosted?

I don't see a machine.config and can't find anything for cookies expiration in IIS.

This is somehting I need to know too.  Can you point me in the direction where to find this in machine.config and IIS.  I can't delete a portal as it seems to need to take more than 20 mins as it is so big!

Machine.config should be in the config folder of your .NET framework folder.
%windir%\Microsoft.Net\Framework\"Version"\CONFIG
