I recently must have clicked the wrong setting when trying to change what information new users are required to give when they logon to my site.

Somehow, now every user, including myself is directed to an update page.  The only problem is that when I click update, it redirects to the same update page.  I cannot get into my site to edit/create new stuff.

I have data base access if there is a way to go in and change/remove a setting there.  I just need some advice on how to do so.

The only thing that I can think of that I might have done wrong, was to perhaps create a new required field for users and forgot to unckeck the hidden box.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check in the dnn_ProfilePropertyDefinition table, there you can see if there are any fields that are required but hidden.  You can also see what fields are required and make sure that you are entering all the required information for fields that are visible.
