I want to add a field to the registration page.  I've found a few bit of info out 'there',  Some say that just making it a required field will cause it to appear.  Other say you need a Dynamic Registration Module...

I've tried making the field required but doesn't seem to make any difference.

Can someone give me a pointer ?

Add your new field and then select for display everything that you want as part of registration.  Then go to Admin --> User Accounts --> User Settings.  Near the bottom of the page, check the box that says "Require a valid profile for registration".  If you want everything grouped together, without group dividers, just add you new filed to the "Name" group.
