One of my site admins is trying to send a newsletter out from our DNN portal. When they preview it, everything looks fine. They click send, and get a successful message. But when the users receive the message, it's completely blank with the subject "(No Subject)".

The strange thing is, I can send the exact same message from my machine, and it goes through perfectly to all users. We are both attempting to send the message asynchronously from the same portal.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

Which DNN version are you using?
Also are you using the same SMTP server? (Does the spam scanner strip out content maybe?).
Have you tried restarting IIS and SMTP server?
Are you sending out html mails, tried sending text only?

Thanks

4.8.0

We're both using the same SMTP server (on the same box as IIS).

>> Have you tried restarting IIS and SMTP server?

No I haven't.

>> Are you sending out html mails, tried sending text only?

It was HTML. I'll try text. Would that cause even the subject to be blank?

>> Are you using same portal language?

Yes.

What I don't understand is that this all works fine for me even on off-site networks, but for another user it just arrives blank. I asked them to do a preview before sending, and everything looks fine.

Yes. The SMTP service is on the same server as IIS.

Yes

I had the user try sending using only text, and the same thing happened. I also had them send to a smaller group with 5 people in it, and the e-mail still arrived blank. They previewed it each time, and the preview had all the information in it.
