Hi All, I am running WebCEO on my site and it is suggesting that I move the title tag to the top of the header section.  How do I do this.

I saw a previous post where this was asked but the only response that the person got was that it is not necessary, but I still want to do it.

Thanks

 Hi Vexander,

I just checked into this and I think that the only way to do this would be to modify the Default.ASPX file.  I'm honestly not completely sure the best way to do that either because if you do that, then you won't be able to cope with any upgrades or anything.

Do you mean that you want to change this:

    <meta id="MetaRefresh" runat="Server" http-equiv="Refresh" name="Refresh" />
    <meta id="MetaDescription" runat="Server" name="DESCRIPTION" />
    (etc etc etc ...)
    <asp:placeholder id="CSS" runat="server" />
    <title>*** YOUR TITLE GOES HERE ***</title>

Into this?

    <title>*** YOUR TITLE GOES HERE ***</title>
    <meta id="MetaRefresh" runat="Server" http-equiv="Refresh" name="Refresh" />
    <meta id="MetaDescription" runat="Server" name="DESCRIPTION" />
    (etc etc etc ...)
    <style type="text/css" id="StylePlaceholder" runat="server"></style>
    <asp:placeholder id="CSS" runat="server" />

This is utterly uneccessary. Anyone who tells you that this makes a difference is lying to you.

There isnt anywhere in the code where you can change this behaviour, because it is done by System.Web.UI.Page. But if you still want to move it to the top, you need to get the Pageblaster module, which has great find and replace capabilities.  http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?r=4a419e12a2&tabid=242&PackageID=10420
