I was reading about other topics, and recalled that asp.net sites can be slow to start.

Could a workaround to this be to use a static index.html page in front of one's DNN site, but have everything else refer to default.aspx??

I do realize the pages have to look alike, or that the home page reference of the site must be changed somehow.

Thank you, Tom

You should be able to include an index.html or default.html page in your DotNetNuke site and set that as the default page in IIS.  However, I don't think IIS will start compiling the site until you actually hit a page that requires it (i.e. Default.aspx).

Hope that helps,

Nope.  Doesn't work that way.  Just In Time (JIT) compiling only compiles when the file is requested.  After the cache expires the smae thing will happen again.  A keep alive is one way, but the bottom line is you need more traffic.

Well, looks like I look around for an inexpensive keep-alive.

Thank you for explaining...
