I installed my website in a DotNetNuke directectory in my URL. I want my website to show up when someone types the URL by itself. Instead, I have to type the URL plus the DotNetNuke directory. How do I change this so that people see my website when they type in the URL alone?

you need the IIS website to point to the DotNetNuke installation directory. If you change this, you might need to fix some of the image paths and internal links within your content.

Can you explain more on how to do this?

I have a local installation. I went into IIS Manager -> Web Sites -> Default Web Site -> Properties -> Home Directory and set the directory as C:\DotNetNuke\Website, but it didn't do anything. I went to the website http://www.exampledomain.com and it automatically redirected me to http://www.exampledomain.com/dotnetnuke. I don't understand these IIS configurations so can you provide explanation and step-by-step instruction?

Can you tell me how I can do this on GoDaddy?

Thank you.

Hello,

OK, I got it to work locally by

1. Making a new website under IIS with the directory point to the DNN installation folder.

2. Stop the old default website and start the new website.

3. Changed the portal alias to not have /dotnetnuke.

Can you tell me how I would do this with GoDaddy, if possible?

glad you figured it out.

Regarding Godaddy, I have to admit that I have no experience since we have our own servers.

A few weeks ago, I tried installing DNN at a 1&1 Server and got to know, that it is impossible, to get it running properly.
