If I put the following robots.txt file in the root directory, all of my portals will be excluded:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

Is there a way to only exclude one portal?

I'm using DNN 3.2.2.

Thanks.

Would anyone have a comment on how to create separate robots.txt files for different portals?

Why do this? For one, when you are developing content on a new portal, you may not want GoogleBot to come through until you are done.

The only way I can figure out how to do this is to tell IIS that a *.txt file should be processed as though it is an *.asp file.

Then within the robots.txt, create logic to test the URI and reply with the relevant text for robots.txt. Not a very clean way of doing it but I believe it will work.
