For as simple as task as it sounds I'm having an incredible difficulty using the Lists ability of DotNetNuke (DotNetNuke.Common.Lists) to retrieve a list of U.S. states. I've been experimenting with this for an embarrassing number of hours. I've also searched the internet, opened up the 3.13 source, and looked at the stored procedures, and still do not have clear idea of how to do this. Can someone please post some code for this? Please???

Remeber I am using DotNetNuke 3.10. Thanks!

Sincerely,

jbaisden

There are a couple places in core where you can search for similar feature. For example in SiteSettings.ascx.vb, this piece of code:

   Dim ctlList As New Common.Lists.ListController
   Dim colProcessor As Common.Lists.ListEntryInfoCollection = ctlList.GetListEntryInfoCollection("Processor")

gets the Processor list.
You can also take a look a the CountryListBox project for more examples.

I don't know how exactly I missed this. I would have sworn I searched the whole DotNetNuke core solution for this code. No matter, here is the code that performed what I needed:

Dim entryCollection As DotNetNuke.Common.Lists.ListEntryInfoCollection = ListController.GetListEntryInfoCollection("Region", "", "Country.US")

ddlState.DataSource = entryCollection

ddlState.DataTextField = "Value"

ddlState.DataValueField = "Value"

ddlState.DataBind()
