I want to have syndication enabled for the announcements module. I think I have all the settings correct, but the RSS won't refresh automatically. Even though I have the SearchEngineScheduler enabled and refreshing every 3 minutes. The RSS only works when I change something in the SearchEngineScheduler settings and then press Update. This will activate a re-indexing content funtion, which will update the RSS feed only once. When I then add a new announcement I can wait as long as I want, but I will never be shown by the RSS feed. Until I make a change to the settings again.

I don't get any errors and the history of the SearchEngineScheduler displayed the start/end/next time correctly, but only once per settings change.

Description Duration (seconds) Succeeded Start/End/Next Start
DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE
Completed re-indexing content

As you can see I have changed the settings at 10:40 and 2:28 and between this there was no re-indexing, although the scheduler says it will perform the next re-index in 3 minutes.

Can someone help me?

Kind regards and thanks in advance,

it is important to know that the site needs to be hit for the scheduler to be able to run. So if this is your dev box, and you just sit and wait, probably nothing will happen. You can try open up yoursite/keepalive.aspx in a different window, this will make sure your site will get hit every few minutes...

Thanks for the reply, I tried it, too bad this wasn't the solution for my problem. Could someone please give me another possible solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance, Nicky.

Ok, this one is solved..

Apparently the host account doesn't trigger the scheduler and won't update the RSS feeds, anyone else, will however, update the scheduler and refresh the feeds properly..

As said before, the problem occurs because the page won't be hit if you are running the host account...(thus no refresh/search sceduler update trigger thingy)

This topic can now be closed..

Thank you Erik, for the heads up on this one..
