Hi

I have a website which was hosted on the web by my service provider. My service provider has now changed the hosting server and the Db server. He has shifted the db and I can see  that data. But the problem is he has also shifted the Dnn folder and copied it to the new server.I changed the web.config to access the new DB but I am getting the following error. Please let me know what should I do.

"Server Application Unavailable

The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable.  Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

"

Please let me know what else is to be done.

Thanks in advance.

Leena

usually this means that a permissions error occurred (ie, the app pool identity has no access rights on the web root folder). Please contact your web hosting provider about this. He should see events in the windows eventlog that will help identifying the issue

Hi Leena,

For a quick check please ask your service provider to verify the appropriate asp.net version of your application. This might help.

Thanks

To add to this:

I'm also in the process of moving a DNN installation from one server to another (of course, I'm the backup administrator of both servers).

There are two situations that I know of (off the top of my head) that will cause that error (I encountered one of them this past weekend):

The NETWORK_SERVICE account not having full permission to all of the files and folders for DNN.

The 2nd situation is not enough free space on the drive.
