Hello!

We have a common problem but can't solve it for some time. So we have an old site (not DNN) with urls in this format www.domain.com/Default.aspx?page=123. Now we created a new DNN site and would like to redirect all old urls to new ones in human friendly format. For example if some user or search engine requests url:

www.domain.com/Default.aspx?page=123

they are redirected to:

www.domain.com/lessons.aspx

Where and how in DNN can we do this?

You need to login to your DNN site with Host level access navigate to "Host" | "Host Settings".

Expand "Friendly URL Settings".

Start creating the redirections.

It's not that simple. If you are using human friendly urls, the querystring part of an url is ignored. So default.aspx is the same as default.aspx?page=123, and you can't create a rule for specific page.

I am running into the same issue with DNN 5.0.  I use querystrings all the time with one of my modules and now those pages with a querystring are all redirected back to the home page.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening.   Also, if I put the tabid into the querystring then the page doesn't redirect but I thought the whole idea of Human Friendly was to avoid putting the tabid into the querystring.

Its not possible to use query params for redirection in the core DNN url rewriter.  I believe that the iFinity URL rewriter can do this as an advanced option.
