What kind of security issue might this cause....any ideas at all? Will this affect other things on the site? (ie prevent a login or anything of that nature)

I will be trying the dll tonight probably.

As for firefox. I would love to use that, but not all my admins have it or would want it and I have CSS problems on at least one of my skins. I will have to start a thread on fixing that problem in firefox first.

Is anyone from the core team investigating this? I saw someone posting ealrier in the thread but haven't heard anything in a while.

I'm not sure about security; maybe someone at the core can confirm this.  What I know is that every time you change the page the cookies with the user info are "refreshed", and that will not work using the modified dll.

The only difference I’ve found about IE and Firefox, Opera, and others, is that IE6 implement P3P policies, affecting the way cookies are handled, and probably that’s what causing the problem, but need time to review if DNN has implemented P3P, again someone from the core who can confirm this?

I’ll check on that and let you know, meanwhile I think you can use the dll, remember to increase lifetime (different from timeouts) of the cookies.

Rgds

Hello: I see that you are receiving the System.Web.Util.UrlPath.ReduceVirtualPath error that others are reporting using DNN.  Does your hosting provider allow you to set "Starting Points"?  I believe that Cathal is on the correct path for a final solution, it would be interesting to see if setting up your child portal as a Virtual Site would either work or throw other issues that might give more info on this.  I have created Child Portals, but only a couple and with very limited use.  I have 6 websites running off the same base virtual site and using the same database, but all are parent sites.

Good luck to you!
