Godaddy supplies no support for DNN other than to provide an automated installation of DNN.  So, I need a little help setting up a parent portal. I will use generic domain names.

I have a hosting account at GoDaddy.  DNN is installed in a subdirectory.  The url is:  http://www.domain.com/dnn

The domain name (domain.com) is registered at GODaddy also.

I bought two domain names today:  domain2.com and domain3.com (both registered at GoDaddy.com).

I created a parent portal at domain.com and created domain alias' of domain2.com, domain3.com, www.domain2.com and www.domain3.com

At GoDaddy, I changed DNS servers for domain2.com and domain3.com to the same as domain.com (hosted at GoDaddy).

I also changed the A Record on domain2.com and domain3.com to the same as domain.com.

Is this all I need to do to make the parent portal work?  I have has success with child portals, but would prefer these to be a parent.

Thanks for you help.

Hi Ron,

I assume you have done this, but you need to go into your GD hosting account and and click the 'Your Domains' button. Then add your two new domains. One (of the very few) advantages of GD and DNN is that if you have your domain registered there, you can add unlimited domains at no charge that can then be made into parent portals. Most shared hosting providers call this a "domain pointer" and charge you $15 or so to add it.

Hope this helps,

Will Sugg
