I want to make the LOGIN token the same color as the background (and maybe) set in in the lower right of the page. How do I do that? What files should be edited and how? Please help a newbie!

If you want to truly hide it, you could just remove it from the .ascx file in your skin.

Before you do that, you could create a custom login page, what way you could just bookmark the login page to get into the site.

Otherwise, you can change the styles of that element by modifying the styles around it in the .ascx skin file.
