I have a host setup www.holdemtabletalk.com and I setup a parent portal httpdoc/1 with its own domain http://www.dnnphone.com.

Everything is working fine.

My question is if I sell a Parent portal (myportal.com) somewhere down the road when it is successful with clients, blogs, files, product in a cart, etc. can I separate/export it into its own host version including customers data etc.

I have searched but can not find the answer, probably using the wrong terminolgy. Any help would be appreciated. It is a really cool feature to have multiportals of DNN but I wonder if  this may not be a good idea if there is any chance of going commercial. Is there a best practice guide for poratls somewhere that I can not find?

you may duplicate the installation and delete from original install the extracted portal and from copy all others. There is no viable option to merge portals into a DNN installation.

This makes sense logically.

I guess my question would be is it practical?

Is there a set of steps that would allow deleteing the host and leaving the parentportal?

I am not sure I could figure out how to delete the host and leave a parent portal. Mkaes my brain hurt. Has anyone done this successfully?
