The organization that I work for created a website in 2006. I just inherited the maintenance of it. One of my coworkers was updating the calendar page and deleted the whole calendar instead of deleting a single event. Now I am trying to restore or recreate it. I don't see it in the recycling bin in the Admin section, and the Events module isn't displaying a calendar or viewing options. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

main question: how was it created? if you got a monthly view or plain date list, it has been most likely the events module been used but you should check module definitions, if there are other events modules available.
