Hi,

I have a Windows application that is writing directly to the Module,TabModules,ModulePermission and other DNN database tables for an Events Module (Not the one that somes with DNN). When I place this events module on a page using DNN it works as expected e.g. You can move the calendar from January to February. However on a page that I have created from my Windows Application things don't work as expected e.g. Not possible to move from Jan to Feb. (Unless logged in as Administrator)

I've looked at the TabModuleSettings and ModuleSettings tables to make sure that the Windows Application is writting the same data as when manually placing the module on a page. Also I've checked that data in the ModulePermission table and TabPermission is also present so All Users have access to the page/module. Is there any other part of the DNN database or filesystem that I should be looking at when creating this manual data? I can't get any more help from the vendor of the Events module and he does not supply source code.

The web site in question is www.dancedirector.net/demostudio Click on the Classes page to view a page which does move from Jan to Feb, or on Classes|Carry Court to view a page that has been created by manually modifying the DNN tables and does not respond to Calendar Changes.

Any help appreciated as I'm going round in circles!

Thanks, Andy Tucker.

there are numbers of tables involved and usually you shouldn't access DNN core tables (especially populate) directly using 3rd party programs. Either use web services or business logic, otherwise you may need to adopt the external software for each DNN version.

Hi, Andy.  Sorry -- without knowing what that third party module is touching I don't have any good hints for you.  However....

No Source?  Not so!
Normally I'd say that it might be helpful if you mentioned the maker, name and version of the module you're using.  In this case, however, I notice that you are using the EventsCalendar module provided by InvenManager.com.

You should have another talk with your vender since InvenManager does, in fact, offer a package ("Enterprise w/Source") that includes the source (I'm hoping you were really unaware of this when posting for help due to "vendor does not supply source code").

Source is not offered for the basic version but in this case it's not accurate to say that the vendor does not offer source code at all -- you simply have to pay for it via the upgraded version (that's a pretty standard practice in third-party DNN modules).

Buy the module and source code here:

Good luck-
