Hello everyone,

First I want to thank anyone who helps me, so thank you.

I am using:

  • DNN4.9 (the latest in the version 4 series)
  • Windows Vista business with IIS7
  • The application pool I am using is set for .net 2.0 with integrated pipeline mode
  • My ISP blocks port 80 but I have it binded to port 8080
  • I have DNN as it's own website instead of as a application under the default site

I had no problems installing DNN. I have no problem browsing to the site from IIS7. My problem is when I try to access the site from another computer on my network or off my network I get an error HTTP 500 internal server error on Internet explorer and on firefox it just takes me to the default website (the IIS7 site). I have tried accessing my site through my IP address and through the host name (www.aarongauthier.com this forwards you to the correct port) but I get the same error. I have had another DNN site before using the same setup as this one so this really has be scratching my head any help would be great.

I figured it out!

I knew it would be something simple, I forgot to setup the Portal Aliases. Well I guess I will not forget that next time.

I ran into the same problem and  managed to view the details of the error (Error 500) by making some changes at the web.config file. Check the link below for more information.

How to show the details of Error 500 on Web Server.

Tested it on GoDaddy and it's working. :)
