Hi,

We have put in a lot of time and effort to create a couple of different pages. We now want to use those pages and create templates of them, so the non-tech webmaster can create pages without any designing. Now we searched the net, but did not find anything else than the video's from dnncreative, which are nice by the way, but start from a new portal and page and end op with a empty page with one text module. and as it seems we cannot transfer from one portal to another

We want to use an existing page as a template, remove the text but keep all the modules and skinning.

Anyone any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jurgen

Navigate to the page you want the template created from, then in the Control Panel click on Export

Provide a Name and Description, and the folder you want selected is Templates (it should exist by default, but if not you can create it in the File Manager).

Then, in the Add/Create new page you'll see the template you created in the dropdown list.

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the reply!

I seem to be missing the export button, I tried to find logged in as host and as admin... no export in the control panel.

I do have Add/Settings/delete/copy/design on the left, New module and existing module in the middle and Site/Users/Roles.Files and Help on the right.

Where should I find it?

That's weird! The only thing I can think it might be, is the classic controlpanel is enabled? Can you goto Host > Host Settings > Advanced Settings > Other Settings and check the Control Panel setting. You want to make sure you have ICONBAR enabled. I just tried the CLASSIC control panel, and wow nothing like a blast from the past. Why is this still included? It looks like it needs to be killed or updated to be more classy.

Are you using any custom control panels, skins, modules in your DNN5 instance? or is everything from the default instance? Was this a clean DNN5 install, or did you upgrade from a previous version? If so, which version?

Sorry for the 20 questions... Hopefully we'll be able to get this going for you shortly...
