After I installed my skin, I am getting a 404 page not found error. when I look at the URL, I see this:

......tabid=83&error=The+Controls+collection+cannot+be+modified+because+the+control+contains+code+blocks+(i.e.+%3c%25+...+%25%3e).&content=0

Any ideas why am I getting this?

Yes I think it could be because where you have copied and pasted information you have no spaces between something.. eg..look for something that looks like this - <tdalign="top">  which should be <td align="top"> 

Please note - I am only using that as an example to show you what could create this error.

It's just an ugly way to tell you - your code isn't able read properly.

... or.. maybe becuase it's 9am Sunday morning here, and I'm thinking off the top of my head.. check you actually have a ContentPane attribute in the skin because if that's missing, then it has now where to put the modules and throws an error. But since I know both of these things, I know how to fix them and know that it's one or the other that's doing this..

Does that make sense?

OK. I found the problem.

In my previous skin for this site, I had a 'ContentPane'. In the new skin, I have a 'CenterPane'. So, when applying the sking and/or previewing it, it could not find the 'ContentPane' and thru an exception.

It would be nice if DNN would be a bit better in producing some user friendly error messages for these kind of 'human' mistakes.

I still love DNN though!
