I have created a custom profile field in dotnetnuke 4.4 (created OK) (with the built in wizard)
But it does not show up on the registration page when a new user attempts to register on the site.
How do I get the fields listed in the profile to show up so the user can enter them in?
It should not require code. But if it does are there some examples?

Can't I turn them on so to speak? Some were, without writting code?

I can not afford the add-in software.

Make those fields required.

You'll have to make those fields required as Joe said (under USERS->MANAGE PROFILE PROPERTIES), but you'll also have to go into USERS->USER SETTINGS and enable the following two options:

  • Require a valid Profile for Registration
This forces new users to add the required info during account creation.

  • Require a valid Profile for Login
This forces existing users to add the required info upon next login.

Thanks you.

This worked just right.

Where did you get this info? From working with it or a book, manual, digging in the code?

I would like to find these things on my own, so I don't have to bother others.

Thanks again!

Carl-
When new to DNN you can certainly get a good start from some of the DNN books but, for me, these kinds of tips come more from creating DNN sites and content than from coding modules.  Oh, and my blog over at http://eguanasolutions.com is a great place to pick up tips (*shameless plug*).

As far as "bothering others"...hey, that's what these forums are for!

Cheers-
