Perhaps you could see the sample query about DNN profile provider located at Providers\MembershipProviders\DNNMembershipProvider\DNNProfileProvider.vb. Maybe you have seen the profile property editor that permits you to create registration items and profile items to modify your registration process. Profile properties I think can be set per portal.

If your query data about the users region was stored as ntext, there would be SQL restrictions, so users' region won't appear unless you produce UDF from a sample query of 'SELECT * from table where Region = Georgia'. I recommend that you use nvarchar when needed because it stores the value within the table.
