I have been a DNN user for quite some time. By reading the books and forums I have been able to beat any problem I run into. I can customize a site till the cows come home, and do just about anything that can be done with DNN. The only problem I can't seem to overcome is making custom containers.

I made a custom container for the following site http://63.134.213.38   it looked and worked near perfect but I just had to add a container to make it perfect. Well, after adding and modifying  several that just didn't work for one reason or another, I finally got a DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions error and couldn't access anything on the site. I finally backed out of that, but now now I get an error on every page because I removed another container via FTP and for some reason it is trying to find it even though I am not using it. I am aware that perhaps I need to remove these references from the DB. However, the custom container I want to use looks like crap and has some strange text errors on it.

To make a long story short, could anyone take a look at the site and tell me why my container looks so bad and why it has those strange errors on it? The background images don't seem to be filling all the gaps at top, and actionbuttons are rendering text instead of the graphics they are supposed to. Also, it seems to be too large. The original file is somewhat small, enough to accmodate the controls. Also, any clues as to why the app is looking for a container folder I removed?  I am at a loss. I admit I need professional help on this one. Please, if anyone has any answers, they would be much appreciated.

That is because now the whole site is down from that same issue. It was having tons of errors. I looked early yesterday and none of the modules were working. Then, the whole site quit working. The error message in the address bar now has the control error issue message. I am at a loss and about to restore the whole shooting match back to last Saturday before I messed it up. I am wanting to figure this out in case I run across it again, but I might run out of time.

How odd is this. I have run into the exact same problem tonight. I am working on my containers for my new skin and in the process of deleting the skin package and uploading a new one I get an error. The address says:

http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

and the page shows a red triangle with an exlamation point and 2 lines of text stating: An error has occured. I have looked at my eventlog for IIS and see the error it states:

Event code: 4005
Event message: Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired.
Event time: 4/5/2006 9:12:43 PM
Event time (UTC): 4/6/2006 1:12:43 AM
Event ID: 94ac122bdcab4612a6c4374c7567e774
Event sequence: 10
Event occurrence: 1
Event detail code: 50202

After getting the error NONE of my sites on my localhost work. All present the same error.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this without wiping ut the DB?

Thx

So after some research I found that my skins table is blank. I imagine that is what is causing the problem. Does anyone have and explaination of what is in the skins table? if that is the problem is possible to maunally rebuild the skins table to restore all sites back to the default blue? I want to find out how to recover this on my localhost so I can recover from it if it happens again. If this happens in my production DB ...ouch.
