Has anyone experienced issues disabling Inline Editing? As nice as the function is I have found that editing inline causes terrible amounts of invalid HTML so I want to disable it's functionality. I am aware of the option in Site Settings to do this but whether I enable or disable, it continues to work? I've found the same with the other options in that area of Site Settings - I don't seem to be able to change how the Control Panel is rendered whatever setting I choose.

I'm running 4.9.2 if that helps but I think I've noticed this problem in previous versions.

Have you tried scrolling to the bottom and selecting "restart application" , it will clear out the cache and should ensure that the new setting is applied.

I did try this and it had no effect I'm afraid. It is definitely storing my change as any setting change is preserved (at least in the admin interface).
