Is there anyway that I can edit the current email notifications. For instance, when someone is alerted of their registration, I would like to change what it currently says in the email that is sent to them.

Thanks for your help.

Look under:

  ADMIN -> LANGUAGES -> LANGUAGE EDITOR

follow Mamlin's advice, in the language editor scroll down default document (GlobalResources.resx) to EMAIL_... keys, alter text and save. These adoptions will affect a single portal only and not be overwritten on portal updates.
