Hey Guys,

Looking for some help. I'm running DDN 4.09.02 and am having some really strange behaviour. The site has been running fine for the last year or so, and the only major change was the 4.09.02 patch update. The problems I am seeing were happening before this though.

I am getting anomolies when trying to save data or click on things. Sometimes (but not always) it will take two clicks of a link, button, menu item before it will move to that page. For example clicking on the login button will sometimes take two clicks to get it to do it.. the first click registers with a sound, but the page doesn't change. I click it again and off she goes.

The second problem, and I am guessing this is related to the clicking problem is that sometimes when I fill out a form or change a setting, hit save or update, it doesn't work. An example, I was changing a host setting. I changed the Host Title to something else and clicked update. The page changed, then when I went back into it, it was back to what it was before. I get this same odd behaviour all sorts of places (Text/HTML module, forums, profile settings, user manager) etc etc.

So what on earth could be causing this? I hoped the upgrade to 4.09.02 would have sorted it, but sadly not so. This HAS been tested on multiple machines at multiple locations.

Any pointers appreciated.

Do you see any javascript errors when you get the issues?

No none. I think I have tracked the issue down however. I believe the problem was because I change the host setting for module caching to Memory. I've changed it back to disk and it seems to be behaving now.

Now why would having memory caching for module cause this?
