I've got an OK understanding of the Feed Explorer module. EXCEPT - I cannot get a RSS from Google Reader configured correctly. Is there a trick (I know about the & configuration)? The best I can do is to get an error message that says the feed URL is undefined.

Any insight on this one?

I might be able to help, but I'm going to need some information from you.

1) What version of DNN are you using?

2) What is the actual URL that is giving you trouble

3) How do you have the Feed Explorer setup?

Might be more needed once Ihave those answers, I can take a better shot at giving you some help.

Cheers

Thanks!

I'm using DNN 4.8

The URL is http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=us&q=youth+development&ie=UTF-8&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=w&as_mind=27&as_minm=12&as_maxd=3&as_maxm=1&nolr=1&output=rss as an example. I have about 30 others that are custom news searches

Feed Explorer - I didn't do anything fancy, I set the radio button to OPML text and here is the format structure:

<outline text="Youth Development" type="none" category="Tab">

    <outline text="News" type="none" category="Section">

        <outline text="Youth Development" type="rss" category="News" xmlUrl="http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=us&q=youth+development&ie=UTF-8&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=w&as_mind=27&as_minm=12&as_maxd=3&as_maxm=1&nolr=1&output=rss" />

    </outline>

</outline>

Now that I type it out like this, I can see that my OPML is missing spaces (not characters) that are in the RSS feed address. I wonder if that's the issue.....

Ok, try this:

Replace the line:
<outline text="Youth Development" type="rss" category="News" xmlUrl="http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=us&q=youth+development&ie=UTF-8&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=w&as_mind=27&as_minm=12&as_maxd=3&as_maxm=1&nolr=1&output=rss" />

With this one:
<outline text="Youth Development" type="rss" category="Category" xmlUrl="http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&ned=us&q=youth+development&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=w&as_mind=27&as_minm=12&as_maxd=3&as_maxm=1&nolr=1&output=rss" />

I've highlighted the corrections in the first line. The category attribute can only be 'Tab', 'Section', or 'Category'. The xmlURL doesn't like the ie=UTF-8 parameter.

No luck with that revision, but thank you for taking the time to help. I've got it configured where other feeds are showing up (code courtesy of other samples I've found on this forum), but the Google feeds don't show. I've been able to get either the URL is not defined message, or the feed address shows up with the option to add to Google home page or Google custom reader.
