I'm taking a different approach - I am redoing the mobile version of my site - in essence it is a different site. So I use standard HTML mods for my menus and use MobiNuke to show and hide different things.

If you looks at some real life examples you can see how different they are - www.coastalwatch.com vs m.coastalwatch.com

It really depends if you just want your main site to work ok in the mobile or if you want to optimise it specifically for the mobile.

It would be ideal if any "mobile" version of the site was auto generated.  Thats actually a good idea.  How about a new item at the top of the screen?  "View, Edit, Layout" ,t hen a radio button for Mobile or Full Version.  Just an idea...

Have you seen MobiNuke? It's absoultely brilliant but has not reached it's full potential and unfortunately the developer is busy with other projects. This will be huge over the next 2 years...   Mobinuke will save you a heap of time (you just specify which modules you want to show and hide and put in the simplified menu). I would not do Admin stuff on the mobile (my end-users are poker players on my social network, no need for admin stuff).

Have you seen this thread about a mobile version?
