I setup DotNetNuke v5.0 a few weeks ago. I got myself and a few friends registered no problem. Now any time someone goes to register I get this worthless error message...

An error has occurred.
Error: User Registration is currently unavailable.

So what does that mean? Where can I go to get more information? There doesn't seem to be any sort of error logging in DNN that I can figure out.

I am a total newbie to DNN and I need help really fast for this please. Is there an error log some place? I can't find it so please point me in the right direction.

please check out the event viewer in admin menu for details of the error.

In an attempt to get more information, I tried to manually add a user while logged in as the site administrator. This is the error I am getting. To me, it means nothing. Hope someone here can help me figure this out...

Error: Add New User is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unknown UserCreateStatus value encountered Parameter name: UserRegistrationStatus ---> System.ArgumentException: Unknown UserCreateStatus value encountered Parameter name: UserRegistrationStatus at DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetUserCreateStatus(UserCreateStatus UserRegistrationStatus) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Users.ManageUsers.UserCreateCompleted(Object sender, UserCreatedEventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Is my database messed up or something?

Thanks for the info on the events viewer. I kept expecting to see that info under site logs. Anyway, this is the message... Same basic info as when I try to add a user while logged in as the admin. I have no idea what this means. Everything else appears to be working except the ability to add users. I can update and delete users just fine. Just can't add.

I am not aware of this issue, which registration method did you choose?

Also I suggest to upgrade to 5.0.1, where some major issues have been fixed. Be aware, that DNN 5.0 is not suggested for production use however.
