Hi All.

Today i wanted to build a portal template of my running productive portal including all content to import it into my development machine.

As my running installation is 3 years old now (some updates, installations, deinstallations) i'm quite sure that there is some dead meat in it and i don't want to copy all the files and db.

I started it as host with a normal filename and checked including content. After one hour i stopped by going to another page. In the folder portals\_default is a file called myfile.template.resources with size 0. Zero, null, nothing, nada. After one hour.

What could this be? What could it do to make it happen? Being patient?

I'm running 4.9.3 and my whole installation folder has approx 280 MB due to many pics.

Thanks in advance

Kai

I would copy all your files/folders/database across and manually clean this up.
I don't see any shortcuts and I'm not sure how a portal template would help cleaning up files here... perhaps a little more background detail on exactly what you are trying to do ?

Many thanks..

"Manual Cleanup" is the key: i don't know which files are needles, which settings in the web.config are outdated,....and so on.

Therefore my idea was:
setting up a plain vanilla 4.9.3, install all additional skins and modules i need and then build a new portal based on the template as, as far is i got it right, then i only get the structure, all pages and moduleorder and also the content.

Then, so my thoughts, i would have a clean installation with all my settings and data.

But for this plan to work i should have an exportet template of my running almost messed up portal. But the export does not work.

Thank you so far

Kai
