I just tried to move one module to our server and therefore also set the SMTP settings: Although I used the same SMTP which I am using on my local DNN installation (and although there is no authentication and SSL at all, just 123.456.789.10:25) it does not seem to work on the production server, where the "test mail" always returns

There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:
There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent.

is your production server in the same network section?

is there a firewall in between?

Is that SMTP server available from your deployment server?  Did you contact your email or network admin?
