Ok, this is driving me nuts, I have an unlimited host server on godday, I installed dnn to a subfolder, install went well, however I cannot access the site, 500 internal error. seems that after hours of investigating, even thought the subfolder is set as application folder, the dnn web.config is still not working, tried location tag, tried appsettings tag in the root web.config, still nothing often ends up bringing down the entire server and all the other domains under it. the only one who seems to have an answer wants to charge money for it. there has to be someone out there who would share this "secret" to get dnn to run in a subfolder. I am starting to sell it as part of my portfolio, I can write a mod, I can write a skin, but those are on sites that reside on standalone hosts. how can I do this?

Can you access an image, or static HTML page in the DNN root directory? Can you access KeepAlive.aspx in the DNN root directory?

These ensure that both the server and ASP are working properly. Do you have it set to the correct version of ASP?

You may have tried these things - but gotta check since it wasn't mentioned. :)

Set IE to not display friendly errors and let us know what the complete error is, including subcode.  Could be permissions, could be a setting GoDaddy doesn't let you fix yourself.
