I was trying to Create a new portal and gave a http Alias as localhost/portal2 and when i click the website it cannot go to the site, but it does create the portal (as it shows in list). i have ASPnet access to do all stuff in the root directory.what am i doing wrong?

DNN needss to create a new folder inside DNN installation folder, make sure, ASP.Net account has full file system permission. Check, whether there is such a folder with child portal name and default.aspx inside, otherwise delete portal, grant permission and readd portal.
