I found DNN provides most of the primary features that my company web portal requires. After careful consideration, my manager decided to develop our company portal based on DNN 4.02. However we are running into a problem with applying authentication in multiple portals (the part that I am responsible for).  I did a substantial search on the forum, but did not get any good result targeting the problems.

I would greatly appreciate if you would share your experiences/knowledge on this issue or point me to the right direction to solve our problems.

We plan to have 2 portals: one public portal without any restriction. The home page in the public portal will include the account login module for registered members to login. After login, the member will be in the private portal, which has different tabs and interface. (Until now, I did not realize that registered members are assigned to the only portal they registered on. I thought that parent and child portal can share users. Shame on me!)

Another issue relates to registering users. Only employees are allowed to register.  To register, employees have to provide their ID; then based on the id, their basic info like name, dept., address... will be populated in the register page.

Do you think these requirements are feasible using DNN?
