As is well known, DNN runs with single codebase /single database/ multiple sites(portals). Then how to migrate a single portal to another dnn hosting server? I can figure out a way: migrating the whole files and databases to another DNN host, then delete all other portals except the one you want to migrate. But this is depreciated, because you may have no privileges in hosting environment or you are not allowed to see other portals' content. Any better solution?

This is the only solution guaranteeing the new portal to be complete (of course it needs to be executed by a user with host permission and file/db access).

There are 3rd party portal backup solution, but I doubt, they can support any module installed.

So depressed!  It is a serious defect that DNN has not this important feature!

Thank you all the same.

just a guess but how about exporting the portal via the export site function(host/portals) - on the new host setup a new installation - install the same modules and then import the site template usig the wizzard.(admin/wizzard)

This may not import all content - depends on the modules you use but it will do most. If you need to export and import the users then give PHD's bulk user management module a go  - export from the old site and import to the new site - the module licence allows you to run the module on two lives sites to achieve this.
