This problem is related to one previously reported in the thread http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/42/threadid/308461/scope/posts/Default.aspx

If a user with module edit permissions puts a page in edit mode, the actions menu for modules with a container is shown, but there is no access to edit the title of the module.

I suppose that module edit permissions is intended to allow users to edit content, but not change the configuration of a module (is this defined somewhere? is this the way it's supposed to work?). But the title of the module is clearly content: shouldn't the user be able to change it?

moved to general forums, because thiis subject is not a problem of media module, but a core framework problem.

OK, but does anyone have a workaround, please? I am working on a project with a business requirement to have an Editor role that is able to edit content but not change module or page configuration. I expected to be able to do this with DNN, but it's not working.

It seems to me that more testing needs to been done for this use case, it's not an uncommon one.

AFAIR, inline editing of the title should be enabled to users, being allowed to edit the module, did you try it?

Hi Sebastian,

That's exactly the problem. When a user with Module Edit permissions tries to edit the title of the module, they can't. They can access the editor for the module from the actions menu. If they click on the inline edit button which appears below the title, inline editing of the module content is possible, but not the title.
